Amiri’s Menswear Fall/Winter 2021 collection debuted in the form of a short film directed by Cara Stricker and music from The Roots.
The collection is an homage to the life of Downtown L.A., where founder and creative director Mike Amiri started his label in 2009. The visually stunning film has an ease to it that translates to Amiri’s latest design.
The show mixed elements of luxury and streetwear for a slick, ’70s inspired men’s collection. Pieces like a pair of flare leather pants to shearling overcoats have clear wearability, and collections’ glimpses of print (leopard, argyle, and pinstripe, for example) and textural variety (boucle, wool, and jersey, to name a few) are refreshingly retro.
Amiri made a collection filled with funky staples and honored L.A. in the process.
