Despite much of the world still being on lockdown, luxury lives on. Swiss watch brand Hublot is celebrating the grand opening of a new flagship boutique in Tokyo this month with a limited edition Big Bang GMT watch designed by world-renowned Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto.
Constantly striving to innovate, Hublot’s collaboration with Yamamoto combines the signature avant-garde tailoring of the designer with the complex construction of the Swiss luxury watch. With the all-black model, each facet of the watch becomes a seamless part of the whole. As a personal detail, the limited edition timepiece displays two different time zones through its GMT feature–for Yamamoto that means Tokyo and Paris, where he’s based. Equipped with a proprietary module, a second time zone can be updated instantly with a push of a button, allowing the local time to be read easily via the conventional main hand of the watch.
“This all black limited edition we created together expresses a simple beauty through the fusion of Yohji Yamamoto’s black design signature and the complicated GMT manufacture movement,” said Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot.
Limited to 50 pieces, the Big Bang GMT All Black Yohji Yamamoto timepiece will be exclusively available at the Hublot Boutique Ginza.END
