Today marks what would have been the 86th birthday of Oscar de la Renta, the legendary Dominican-American designer who dressed everyone from celebrities to politicians. De la Renta entered the world of fashion at 18 through his skills as an illustrator, and quickly wound up as an apprentice to Cristóbal Balenciaga. Throughout his career he worked for houses like Lanvin and Balmain and represented Americans at the Battle of Versailles fashion show, all while also building his own fashion empire. To honor his birthday, CR looks back at some of best looks from his career.
