Blackpink’s Jennie is the face of Chanel Coco Neige

Jennie from the South Korean powerhouse girlband Blackpink is the face of Chanel’s Coco Neige 2021 campaign, photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The collection draws from winter sportswear and classic Chanel embellishments, embracing a masculine-meets-feminine spirit inherent to the Chanel house. Shot against a black and grey background, the photographs explore agile grace and elegant style, grounded in a poppy pink and black collection palette natural to the popstar.

Chanel’s Winter 2021 range features logo printed trousers, a pearl-grey down jacket with a removable hood, a parka, and feminized ski suit. Jennie models the pink and red wool belted jacket over black leggings with a peeking pink motif, black and white wool cardigan, striped sweater and ski suit overalls, and a teeny tiny purse held by a leather necklace chain.

As a Chanel lover and brand ambassador, Jennie has modeled for the French house since 2017, sat front row at Paris fashion week, and appeared on red carpets and Instagram posts in countless double-Cs. The It-girl was dubbed “Human Chanel” by Blackpink’s affectionate “Blinks” fandom, as she represents the historic designer among her high-fashion bandmates with ambassadorships of their own.

“I find it amazing to see how Virginie Viard brought elegance into ski wear,” said Jennie. “I think Virginie Viard creates for many different women and has a different story to every collection that she makes.”

The Coco Neige 2021 collection will be available in Chanel boutiques from October 19, 2021.
