Converse is no stranger to collaborating with the who’s who in fashion. Fresh off their partnership with Rick Owens, Converse debuts a comprehensive capsule collection with Artistic Director of Fendi, Kim Jones.
Jones puts his subtle twist on the classic Chuck ’70s. The artistic director explains,“The design approach for the shoe was very straightforward — taking a very classic shoe and then almost encasing it in something to protect it.”
The encasing gives the Converses a chic and modern platform effect. The rubber material gives the shoe a less refined, utilitarian flair. The available colorways, Black and “Natural Ivory” are reminiscent of the neutral palette that Kim Jones exhibited so well in his Fendi FW21 show.
The clothing capsule gives a fresher take on classic sports and loungewear, with crewnecks and pullovers in an all-American color palette.
See the lookbook shot by Juergen Teller below. The collection releases on Converse.com on April 8th.END
