A First Look at Issue, Bottega Veneta’s New Digital Magazine

START body

Bottega Veneta is venturing into the digital journal space with the launch of Issue magazine. The first issue was released today and is a way for lovers of the brand to engage with the product and the brand universe through a fresh lens. Bottega Veneta tapped into a variety of designers, creatives, photographers, and film-makers (plus one balloon artist) to create a gallery of editorial images and documentary-style film that is best experienced with your volume turned up.

This is following Bottega Veneta’s disappearance from social media, a move that took the fashion world by storm in early January 2021. François-Henri Pinault made a statement saying that “regarding its digital communication strategy, it’s not disappearing from social networks — it’s merely using them differently.” It’s clear to see that the brand’s choice to sign off of all social platforms was not just a simple PR stunt but a precursor to their new digital venture and a way to streamline their online platforms, allowing audiences to hone in on Issue.

Issue 01 invites readers to view jewelry on the freshly-manicured hands of a violinist and a saxophone player, window-shop for signature Bottega products and outfits against wood, stone, and concrete, listen to the idyllic sounds of chain-link jewelry and check out the classic Lug boots — but made of bright yellow gelatin. Much of the imagery plays with various textures, foods, and fabrics as well as exploring perspective through photography all while tastefully highlighting Bottega Veneta’s offerings. Issue 01 is the collective creation of 28 artists and a study of escapism through sound, texture, color, and film.

Issue 01 by Bottega Veneta will be published quarterly and is available to view now on issuebybottega.com.
