Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, Co-Founders of The Attico, have turned their hands to the micro minis and gilded lamés of swimwear with their latest capsule “State of Nature.”
Toned in the fuchsias, limes, and zebra motifs, so singularly apt for The Attico brand, Ambrosio and Tordini have curated a small raft of plunging matte and metallic suits tied back into braids and twisted sharply at the breastbone, tapping the escaping lull of a balmy summer day. “Our biggest goal has been finding the right cuts and silhouettes,” said Tordini. Holding fast to the sizzle and flash of their Attico girl, the swim needed “a sexy touch, but always staying elegant and never vulgar.”
In a carousel of images, South African photographer Henrik Purienne captured models, Shante Gainsford and Nina Milner, through grainy lenses and deep sepia tones, merging the unfussy retro-style of the collection with the lived-in, nuanced languor of life lived through summer.
“We wanted to really communicate through the images…the tight link that every woman experiences during the summer. The sand of the beach or the water of the ocean,” said Ambrosio. “We tried to convey a sense of peace and harmony with the environment, which is something we think that people really dream of after these long months at home.”
