Raf Simons has announced his namesake brand’s first foray into womenswear. Launching October 23, the womenswear collection will be revealed alongside the brand’s men’s in a format that is yet to be made public.
The addition to the designer’s eponymous label comes shortly after his appointment as co-creative director at Prada. Simons’ first display of creative command, which is shared with Miuccia Prada, will take place at Milan Fashion Week this September.
While this is Simons’ first venture into womenswear under his own brand, the designer has expressed his expertise in creative roles at Jil Sander, Christian Dior, Calvin Klein, and most recently, Prada. Some of his eponymous men’s collections, Fall/Winter 2019 and 2020 for example, have also incorporated feminine components, even being presented by stores as womenswear offerings.
Raf Simons took to Instagram to announce the Spring/Summer 2021 womenswear collection. In a simple display, the brand declares that its youthful presence will be translated to another enticing project.END
