All dressed up with nowhere to go? Honestly, probably not. With lockdown going on nearly six months, sweatpants have become the standard. Luckily, Giuseppe Zanotti is serving our sartorial shelter-in-place needs with a new, luxurious leisure collection.
The capsule began as a personal project for the Italian footwear designer, who was inspired by his time in quarantine, which he spent wearing a lot of tracksuits. “It got me thinking, why wouldn’t I make my own, exactly how I wanted, in exactly the materials I liked?” Zanotti said. The result is the Living Room capsule, the designer’s first foray into ready-to-wear.
Utilizing the highest quality materials, Zanotti’s premiere loungewear collection offers a minimalist lineup of tees, hoodies, crewnecks, and track pants, all embellished with trademark elements of the brand, such as exposed zippers and gold embroidery spelling out Zanotti’s handwritten signature. The Living Room capsule, crafted in Italy, is locally manufactured and made from a hypoallergenic cotton. “I feel this is a time when we want to look at the essence of things,” Zanotti said, “when we desire long-lasting pieces that we can wear time after time.”
In celebration of the launch, American skateboarder and model Evan Mock donned and photographed the luxury loungewear at his home in Los Angeles. The self-shot images capture the ease and simplicity of the collection.
While the T-shirts drop today, the rest of the collection will be released later in the month. Zanotti also has a special sneaker in the works, set to debut later this year, adding to the Living Room edit.
Giuseepe Zanotti’s Living Room tees are now available online. The rest of the capsule will drop later in August.END
