Do you ever wish that there could be more of Gigi Hadid? Specifically three of her, promoting her latest in a long line of fashion collaborations? Well good news, because in addition to tapping her for a brand new shoe collection, Stuart Weitzman has also released a trippy film with the model.
Shot by Cameron Duddy—the man behind music videos for Bruno Mars and Jenifer Lopez—the surreal clip, titled The Season for Loving, features Hadid rocking her new collection of suede fall mules (the toes are lined with shearling for warmth), while running in to duplicates of herself.
The films occult-like story takes inspiration from the shoes themselves. Working with the label’s new creative director, Giovanni Morelli, Hadid was drawn to the evil eye. Adapting an existing Stuart Weitzman mule silhouette, she adorned her shoes with the hypnotic icon. “The evil eye is a powerful symbol meant to protect those who wear it from negative energies,” she explains. “It’s emotionally comforting and beautiful and captivating to look at.”
What some fans might find especially emotionally comforting is that part of the proceeds will support Pencils of Promise, an organization dedicated to provide all children with an education. Stuart Weitzman has promised the charity 5,000 to help build three schools in Ghana, Guatemala, and Laos this fall. Turns out those evil eyes aren’t so bad after all.
The Gigi Hadid mule collection for Stuart Weitzman is available in-stores and online today.END
