On Sex and the City‘s 20th Anniversary, Carine Brings Sex Back to New York

START body

The first episode of Sex and the City aired 20 years ago today and from that point on, the story of a Manolo Blahnik-loving sex columnist and her three friends became the paradigm for 20- and 30-something single women in New York City. Not only did it accurately capture our dating lives and friendships, but the show’s styling headed up by Patricia Field singlehandedly put the city’s unique style on the map. In celebration, we headed to the scene of Carrie Bradshaw’s Perry Street apartment with transgender model Chayse McMullan, and a location van filled to the brim with a designer wardrobe that the real Carrie (circa seasons one and two) would approve of. In honor of Bradshaw’s supposed birthday, we look back on this moment from CR Fashion Book Issue 11.
