On Monday, the palace published a LinkedIn job offer seeking a ‘planner’ to help execute a massive 1 million (£369 million) refurbishment project alongside a pre-existing team. For the first time since 1950, applicants have a shot at applying their eye to the famed landmark’s elaborate decor that has gone untouched for over seven decades.
“Buckingham Palace is currently undergoing a ten-year program of works to overhaul its infrastructure–including electrical cabling, plumbing, and heating–for the first time since the 1950s,” an excerpt of the job listing reads. “A dedicated in-house Program Management Office (PMO) oversees delivery to ensure the building is fit for purpose for the next 50 years.”
With crucial job skills listed such as software expertise, keen written and verbal communication skills, and an in-depth understanding of construction, the post claimed over 150 applicants since it was posted.
