From her best-selling memoir, Becoming, to her subsequent Netflix documentary, its clear Michelle Obama has stories to tell. For her next project, the former first lady of the United States will be sharing more about her life and the experiences of others, with the launch of “The Michelle Obama Podcast.”
Debuting on Spotify on July 29, the podcast will feature Obama in conversation with family and colleagues about the meaningful relationships in their lives. She took to social media to announce the show and share more details about it. “It’s been a tough year, and I hope this podcast can help us explore what we’re going through and spark new conversations with our loved ones,” she wrote on Instagram.
During times of lockdowns and social-distancing, relationships and connections are timely themes to explore.”What I love about these conversations is that they’re issues we’re all dealing with every day—and they can take on new meaning when we’re going through a global pandemic or seeking out long-overdue racial justice in our communities,” Obama said.
“The Michelle Obama Podcast” was made in conjunction with Spotify and Higher Ground, the production company founded by Barack and Michelle Obama. It is the first show of a multiyear collaboration between Higher Ground and the streaming platform.END
