Historic Parisian beauty apothecary, L’Officine Universelle Buly has found a second home in New York City. Founded in the 19th century by Jean-Vincent Buly, the emporium is best known for its shop on Rue Bonaparte in the French capital’s Sixth Arrondissement, its all-natural approach to formulating original beauty products, and its classically beautiful packaging. Now it’s bringing its old world charm to Fifth Avenue. Today, L’Officine has opened an exclusive shop inside of Bergdorf Goodman.
A permanent fixture on the department store’s dedicated Beauty Level, L’Officine’s new outpost serves a homage to its rich history; the interior of the space was manufactured and shipped directly from France. In it, you’ll find cracked ivory showcases with Art Deco-style brass fixtures and one of Buly’s original advertisements from the 1920s, which was pulled from the brand’s private collection especially for the new Manhattan location.
The new store’s staff have been trained extensively in L’Officine’s products ahead of the grand opening. Bergdorf Goodman will stock around 700 different Buly items in total, which is nearly the exact same inventory as the brand’s Parisian flagship. All formulated in France, the tried and true range offers the best in body, skin, fragrance, and grooming care without the use of irritating toxic ingredients like parabens, phenoxyethanol, and silicone.
L’Officine Universelle Buly is open for business now on the Beauty Level of Bergdorf Goodman at 5th Avenue and 58th Street in New York City.END
