The Cardi B hair saga continues — and this time, we have a trademark. As of April 16, the rapper and NYC native filed to trademark “Bardi Beauty” for her rumored upcoming cosmetics venture, potentially selling multiple different beauty categories under one company. As reported by TMZ, Cardi B has listed her real name Belcalis Almanzar under the position of Chief Executive Officer.
The artist had previously taken to Instagram to announce her plans to come out with a haircare line in 2021 that she had been working on at home for her hair and her daughters’ hair, with a focus on moisturizing and aiding hair growth. Cardi B has been outspoken about educating her followers on various Afro-Latina hair textures and curl patterns and her line will most likely focus on catering to those who identify as Latinx.
Cardi B has also mentioned in an Entertainment Tonight interview that she wants to create a makeup line, leaving fans guessing that the haircare might be one section of a larger beauty launch. The WAP artist has yet to officially launch any beauty products but whatever she comes out with will be met by eager followers looking to snatch up any potential offerings. According to the trademark documents, this could include makeup, fragrances, haircare, nail polish, and skincare. Cardi B is known for her eclectic, over-the-top aesthetic that shines through in her fashion partnerships with brands like Reebok, Steve Madden, and Fashion Nova — we imagine that Bardi Beauty will be no different.
Cardi B is following in the footsteps of other artists, actresses and celebrities who have come out with beauty lines including but not limited to Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty, Jessica Alba’s Honest Beauty, Drew Barrymore’s Flower Beauty, Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty, Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetics, and Kim Kardashian West’s KKW Beauty.END
