Stephanie Seymour’s Major Runway Moments

START

After receiving recognition as a finalist in the Elite Models Look of the Year competition in 1983, Stephanie Seymour wasted no time in becoming one of the most iconic models of the ’80s and ’90s. Although her early career consisted mainly of modeling for local newspapers and department stores, by the late 1980s, she was already considered a top cover girl. Walking for the likes of John Galliano, Gianfranco Ferré, and Chanel, the San Diego-born bombshell became a regular fixture on some of the world’s most prominent runways, and a treasured favorite of the house of Versace. Her celebrity status was officially cemented when she became one of Victoria’s Secret’s original Angels in 1997. Years spent in the fashion industry led Seymour to try her own hand at design: in 2017, she launched her own lingerie line, Raven & Sparrow, currently available at Barney’s New York.

In honor of the supermodel’s birthday today, CR looks back on some of Seymour’s major runway moments, from Helmut Lang to Hermès.
