Mercedes-Benz has been crowned monarch of the marque. Whether it is cars or clothing, the German automotive company has established itself as a leader in luxury. Mercedes-Benz has a history of streetwear partnerships, including collaborations with Heron Preston and Virgil Abloh, and is continuing its series by joining forces with Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for a brand new capsule collection.
Entitled “The Power of Two,” the collaboration’s concept draws inspiration from the American open road with an injection of opulence. The exclusive capsule collection juxtaposes Mercedes-Benz’s polished composition with Proenza Schouler’s unadulterated silhouettes. Featuring seven gender neutral designs, the two houses seek fulfill the needs of any luxury traveler while reflecting the outstanding craftsmanship they are both widely known for.
As if that wasn’t enough to have us racing to the racks, the collection was also crafted under the umbrella of responsible design. Actress Laura Dern and her son Ellery Harper are the faces of the line, setting the scene for an epic cross-country road trip in an electric Mercedes EQS sedan. Their mutual devotion to sustainable practices captures the collection’s essence, in both ethics and exploration.

This collaboration aims to take customers and fans on a sustainable road trip that reflects timeless design, where fashion becomes a contemporary messenger of cultural change that enhances the value of individual lifestyle.”
A Proenza Schouler staple, the eco cotton tie dye t-shirt is produced using organic and eco-friendly dyes, and features their signature logo atop of the Mercedes Benz icon. The emblematic Mercedes-Benz star is highlighted in a myriad of colors on recycled cashmere blankets and naturally tanned blanket harnesses. Keychains constructed from upcycled leather and oversized totes crafted from recycled wool are among the capsule’s accessories as well.
“We wanted to create a collection inspired by travel and the open road, and used this as an opportunity to try new, environmentally responsible production methods,” explains designers McCollough and Hernandez. The experience opened our eyes to how much can be done while designing through a sustainable lens, and we are grateful to Mercedes-Benz for their partnership through this process.”
