Courrèges artistic director Nicolas Di Felice presented a chic, chrome-plated range for Spring/Summer 2022 at Paris Fashion Week. In a clean color palette of monochrome looks, the silhouettes reflected mod 1960s hems and necklines, but forwarded with modern elements of cheeky cutouts and trendy halters. Trousers flare at the base, with split hems, and are paired with crop tops and muscle tees, or layered under leather mini dresses.
The highlight of the collection is the outerwear, including bomber and moto jackets, as well as tailored trenches, which come in brown glossy vinyl, pure pink, bright yellow, black leather, and spacey chrome. Next season, Courrèges invites retro-futurism to exist in 2022, as classic glamour is embraced with popular styles from this decade for the modern woman.
Titled “Both of us knowing,” the show’s look rolled out into a sunny field, as the models floated in knee-high leather boots, mules, and strappy sandals. “Today the Courrèges show took place in one of my favorite place in Paris,” wrote Di Felice on Instagram, “a field lost in the woods full of souvenirs of freedom, friendship and love. I’m so touched to have shared this with you.”
