More is more when it comes to GCDS’ Fall/Winter 2022 campaign titled “Trip Daily” shot by Photographer Jack Bridgeland. Known for its playful and ironic nature, the Italian house with a massive celeb following worn by everyone from Kylie Jenner to Dua Lipa continues to blur the lines between streetwear and couture for their latest campaign.
For the collection, Creative Director Giuliano Calza included a series of nostalgic features from our favorite characters like Hello Kitty and Looney Tunes. Baggy jeans are decked out in sketches of Porky Pig and Daffy while word “Porky” splays across the crotch of the denim piece adding eccentric graphic touches.
GCDS juxtaposes the bold illustrative nature of the cartoons against the softness of the faux fur and knitwear. Hello Kitty adorns fluffy oversized Moon Boots, which in the campaign is styled alongside a dreamy rhinestone-embellished bra. Classic maxi tees feature Tweety bird, while a bright yellow fuzzy bodysuit seems to pull inspiration from the iconic bird.
Elsewhere, the collection focuses on sustainability partnering with Alcantara S.p.A., an Italian brand producing carbon neutral luxury fabrics.
In the campaign’s imagery, Bridgeland used icy pastels, intense highlights, and a sprinkling of neons to visualize a trippy world that compliments the collection. In terms of accessories, an array of ornamental jewelry, structured lingerie-inspired pieces, and furry hats and bags all made a vibrant appearance.
