Kylie Jenner is an entrepreneur of all things beauty; at 17-years-old she launched Kylie Cosmetics, seizing the beauty industry and the internet with its notorious lip kits and sister collaborations; four years later she launched Kylie Skin, a pink-lensed world of serums, creams, masks, and sunscreen; and just a couple years after that in 2019 she sold a majority of her company to beauty conglomerate Coty Inc. for 0 million. Now it’s 2021 – with Keeping Up With the Kardashians wrapped up and Stormi growing bigger, the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan is now foraying into fashion with a debut swimwear line.
Yesterday, Jenner sneaked a peak of Kylie Swim by Kylie Jenner on her Instagram stories and a dedicated posted tagging @kylieswim (which has already gained 376K followers) as the caption. While there’s not a lot of information on the brand just yet, Jenner’s photos gave us a quick glimpse at what to expect when it comes to the line’s aesthetic – vivid sunset palettes, skinny hemlines and necklines, and geometrical silhouettes. According to WWD, the “Kylie Swim” and “Kylie Swim by Kylie Jenner” trademarks umbrella “swimwear, beach cover-ups, headwear, tops, bottoms, footwear and robes,” and “swimwear-related accessories”.
This isn’t Jenner’s first foray into fashion. Her influencer reputation and celebrity persona has earned her a place in the fashion realm on covers, runways, attending prestigious galas, and sitting front row. Yet her previous sartorial endeavors with sister Kendall have shown her business nature in the industry. Alongside Kendall + Kylie, which launched in 2012, the Jenner sisters collaborated with Amazon’s The Drop on a collection that fit quarantine’s clothing criteria.
