Closing out Women’s History Month, Off-White has announced the launch of its third activism campaign, “I Support Black Women” with Trinice McNally aimed to empower women of color.
The “I Support Black Women” project, shot by Kennedi Carter and featuring McNally – a Black queer feminist that got acquainted with Virgil Abloh, Off White Creative Director after the viral “Defend Black Women” rally. The campaign also features nine Black women leaders of all identities, including transgender, immigrant, differently-abled, plus size, queer, working-class. The activists that take part in the program are Trinice McNally, Jaimee Swift, Juju Bae, Aja Taylor Keri Gray, OnRaé LaTeal, Brianna Gibson, Toni-Michelle Williams, Paris Hatcher and Tiara Gendy.
The project aims to endorse solidarity of experience and education, where each woman showcases the importance of activism and the fight for social justice. In the coming months, Off-White will host a series of webinars with roundtable discussions on education with each activist. The initiative is developed in partnership with Black Discourse, a platform that uses oral tradition to short circuit access to knowledge with Black Masters for young BIPOC future creatives.
Off-White is also launching a fundraiser for the Creation of a Physical School for Black Feminist Politics. The funds will be used to establish a physical space and summer camp in Washington D.C. for the School for Black Feminist Politics, a Black Women Radicals’ program that is currently hosted digitally. The activists featured in “I Support Black Women” campaign will host seminars based on their spheres of expertise.
The donations for the fundraiser can be made at ifundwomen.com
