Petra Collins Makes Her Fashion Debut with I’m Sorry

Artist, model, photographer, and CR contributor Petra Collins launches her first foray into fashion with I’m Sorry. The collection was created in partnership with Montreal-based fashion platform Ssense.

Referencing an overworked expression from Collins’ native Canada, I’m Sorry is an unapologetic interpretation of female empowerment. The collection includes 12 styles which reference the muse’s advocacy for female sexuality and self-expression through playful manga graphics, lingerie-inspired pieces, and casualwear like matching sweatsuits and pajama sets. The casualwear-turned-partywear collection is ideal for today’s work-from-home woman.

It has been over one year since the initial conversations about the collection. Petra and creative collaborator Dean DiCriscio spent the meantime gathering inspiration and refining the product offerings.

Collins introduces I’m Sorry with a series of bedroom portraits, perfectly displaying how her celebration of femininity in her photography is reflected by the fashion itself. While the collection pays homage to the uncomfortability of girlhood, it is also an outlet for the artist to embody her long standing support for women’s rights. For nearly a decade, she has sought to provide a secure space for girls through her imagery, collaborations, and attitude.

I’m Sorry is the first of two collaborations between Petra and Ssense. The second, which will include more intricate pieces and the addition of shoes and accessories, is set to drop later this fall.

Petra Collins’ I’m Sorry collection is now available online.
