Simon Porte Jacquemus is an innovator. The young French designer’s creative ideas (he staged a runway show in a lavender field and was one of the first to execute a Facetimed photoshoot) have industry heavyweights and supermodels clamoring to work with him. So who did the designer pick to star in his latest campaign? His grandmother Liline. And who shot it? He did, of course.
The designer expressed how special the #JacquemusAtHome family collaboration is to him on Instagram, where he posted the photos. In the campaign, Liline embodies the effortlessly chic look that her grandson has made famous. She is pictured in the idyllic French countryside wearing a number of Jacquemus’ Spring/Summer 2020 fashion, including an oversized white pantsuit with soft pink statement earrings. In other images, she carries a hard-shell white bag and wears a pink pantsuit, or a long green dress and orange sunhat. Liline stares at a table of tiny Le Chiquitos in one photo and carries several of the cult bags in another.
#JacquemusAtHome feels, well, like Jacquemus really is at home. The light is soft. There is greenery, flowers, and an exceptionally cute dog. Though Liline’s designer gown may fan out in the grass perfectly, she is still giggling and chucking up a peace sign for her grandson. The campaign embodies the ethos of Jacquemus’ brand: bright colors and clean, innovative silhouettes draws a viewer in, but it is a sense of easy warmth and familiarity that makes it truly stand out.
