Beyoncé gave us another glimpse at the upcoming Adidas X Ivy Park collaboration, sharing a campaign video and images on her Instagram. She first announced the collaboration, which will drop later this month, in December 2019 with a series of pictures of herself repping the capsule, including shots of her with Ivy Park grills, beaded braids with the brand, and duo-logo earrings.
In the new video, Beyoncé models the unisex collection of urban performance-wear alongside K-pop star CL and other models. Set against a sunset, the line of clothing, shoes, and accessories appears in maroon, orange, and white. Adidas’ signature three-line stripe is used throughout the sporty collection consisting of transformable tracksuits and athletic wear, in addition to billowing dresses and sock boots. The collaboration marks Ivy Park’s first foray into footwear, with sneakers as another highlight.
The upcoming collection will be Beyoncé’s first as the sole owner of Ivy Park. The brand was originally backed by Topshop owner Philip Green, but Beyoncé bought out his shares in the company in 2018 amidst sexual and racial harassment charges against the businessman. For this new chapter in the brand’s history, the multihyphenate wanted to reimagine the DNA of Ivy Park by making it gender-neutral and designing multi-functional pieces.
“This new line is fun and lends itself to creativity, the ultimate power,” Beyoncé said in an interview. “I focused on designing a unisex collection of footwear and apparel because I saw so many men in Ivy Park. The way they have embraced the brand is an unexpected gift. I appreciate the beauty of gender-neutral clothing and breaking the so-called fashion rules. I took a chance on myself when I bought my company back. We all have the confidence in us to take chances and bet on ourselves.”
Adidas X Ivy Park will be available online on January 18, 2020.
