Instagram has proven its ability to launch fashion brands from zero to 100 overnight. All it takes is a paparazzi snap of Bella Hadid “out and about” wearing the swag a label sends her. It’s the marketing strategy of product placement on celebrities in Us Weekly circa the mid-aughts.
The latest emerging label enjoying a moment? Liudmila, a buzzy shoe line beloved by CR girls for its sexy, reportedly comfortable stilettos. Bella Hadid’s go-to spiky boots channel a domin-Matrix vibe, while Emrata and Nadine Leopard enjoy more of a 1999 prom sandal.
While Liudmila isn’t designed by a Russian princess, it is inspired by a character in Russian literature, who beguiled founder Najeeba Haya while studying liberal arts at Wesleyan University. Every dreamy shoe is made in Milan and after launching in 2013, Liudmila recently became a hit with It-Girls and retailers alike. A fairy tale story, indeed.
