Intimate Moments from the 2018 Women’s March

A year after the largest social demonstration in history, thousands gathered again in the streets across the world this past Saturday for the second annual Women’s March, a grass roots movement that advocates for legislation and policies for human rights for women, LGBTQ, and racial minorities, the natural environment, and freedom. In New York alone, 200,000 women, men, children, and the occasional animal friend came together to champion not only themselves and the people around them, but to also espouse generational feelings about being denied and discriminated against. This year’s march comes at an even more important time, given the surge of social activism such as #MeToo and the Times Up movement. From the Upper West Side to Midtown, photographer Tiffany Nicholson documented the New York scene for CR, observing moments of anger, upset, and the spirit to keep fighting.
