French luxury group Kering has partnered with the CDC Foundation to provide personal protective equipment and support medical workers in the fight against the coronavirus across the U.S. and Latin America. The conglomerate and its fashion houses, including Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Gucci and more, will collectively donate million to the foundation. With the resources from Kering’s support, supplies will be distributed to the places most impacted by the virus, such as New York, New Jersey, California, and Florida. This comes after Kering’s contribution of 3 million face masks to France.
“Kering’s contribution hopes to create complementary impact alongside government in ways that will protect and provide lifesaving support as together we work to combat this unprecedented pandemic,” the company said.
In addition to its donation, Kering will also support the CFDA’s A Common Thread initiative and Your Friends in New York Want to Help, an organization launched by fashion designer Kerby Jean-Raymond to support the American fashion industry as it is impacted by the pandemic.END
