Gwyneth Paltrow is coming to screens near you in a new Netflix show–and no, it’s not The Politician season 2 (you’ll have to wait until later in the year for that one). Premiering on January 24, The Goop Lab highlights the extremes of wellness as Paltrow consults experts on matters of physical and mental health, beauty, and female pleasure.
The six-episode docuseries follows Paltrow, Goop’s Chief Content Officer Elise Loehnen, and other team members as they test their personal boundaries and explore buzz-worthy but intimidating realms of the wellness field. “What we try to do at Goop is explore ideas that may seem out there or too scary,” Loehnen says in the trailer for the show. Some of these subjects include psychedelics, cold therapy, energy healing, sexual anatomy, and psychics.
Bringing a fresh face to wellness TV, Goop’s newest venture adds to the company’s growing platform across media, retail, and events. First launched as Paltrow’s newsletter in 2008, the actress-turned-entrepreneur has expanded Goop into a brand that offers a curated view of beauty, fashion, home, and lifestyle topics. Connecting with its audience through informative articles, a print magazine, podcast, pop-up events, and summits, Goop has become a leader in the luxury wellness field. Add to this its move into the streaming services realm, and the lifestyle brand is on a mission to turn everyone into a Goop-loving gal.
